Do I need a dental crown?

What can I expect during the crown process?

During your first porcelain crown visit, the dentist will prepare your tooth by removing a portion of the enamel in order to make room for the new crown. If you are replacing a crown or correcting a broken tooth, the dentist may need to use filling material to build-up the tooth. Next, an impression of the tooth is taken and you are fitted with a temporary crown. Once your custom-made porcelain crown is finished, you will visit us again for your permanent placement. At this time, the temporary crown is removed and the new crown is strongly bonded, shaped and polished for a beautiful, natural-looking result.
