What is the Invisalign® tooth straightening system?

Invisalign® is a newer braces concept that has helped countless people straighten their smiles using a series of custom-made, clear plastic aligners. These "invisible" braces allow patients to avoid the uncomfortable and unattractive side effects of metal braces.

How does Invisalign® straighten teeth?

First, your doctor will create molds of your mouth to be used in the design of your new braces. Then, Dr. Sands will create a series of customized aligners with the help of three-dimensional, digital imaging technology. Each retainer is worn for two weeks until teeth are in the optimal position. Treatment times are generally comparable to that of traditional braces, and in some cases results can be achieved more quickly.

Are Invisalign® braces really invisible?

Many of our Invisalign patients have completed treatment without their closest friends knowing! Although the clear, plastic aligners are not actually invisible, but they are incredibly discreet and hard to spot. A good majority of our Invisalign patients actually put off braces treatment that was recommended in their teen years until now due to the unwillingness to walk around with “metal mouth.” The fact that people can undergo tooth straightening without having to sacrifice their white smile is priceless.
